A workflow system for campaign packaging at Coca-Cola is ensuring an improved packaging process and a faster time to market.

Quicker onto the market

Coca-Cola GmbH is the German subsidiary of ‘The Coca-Cola Company’, which owns the rights to almost 400 brands in the alcohol-free segment.

Each year the packaging and point-of-sale material is updated for all Coca-Cola brands.

Our task was to design a prototype workflow system for the development of campaign-specific and themed packaging – a standardised process that reduces the likelihood of errors, creates an overview, builds in quality controls and reduces time to market.

Better packaging process

We described a workflow in which ICT plays an important supporting role and developed a working prototype to demonstrate the effect, method and savings. Coca-Cola was enthusiastic about the system and, for reasons of confidentiality, built it itself based on our design. Thanks to the improved process and increased quality, the savings being made at Coca-Cola are still exceeding expectations.
